Stella!

Veloce e speciale menzione per mio cognato, Head Chef presso la Petersham Nursery in Richmond, che e' stata appena insignita della stella Michelin.

Well done, Tito.

Siamo estasiati e super orgogliosi di te (e di questo passo, come lo dimagriamo, Ciccio Louis, con un padre cosi???)
E per gli anglofoni, un articolo che parla di questo magnifico traguardo e cita anche il nostro eroe!
"She is the single mother who gave up running high-pressure kitchens in Mayfair
and Paris to move to the suburbs and raise her children.
But today Skye Gyngell is back among the dining world's elite after winning a
Michelin star for her “less is more” café where customers are seated in a
greenhouse.
The surprise winner in this year's guide was Petersham Nurseries Café, near
Richmond Park, which has already charmed celebrities including Madonna, Mick
Jagger and photographer Mario Testino with a focus on simple flavours.
Mother-of-two Gyngell said: “I moved to Paris to cook when I was 18 and I worked
in The Dorchester and The Sugar Club. But I had kids and I got tired.

“I'm a single mother and working 70 hours a week is definitely a young
person's game. But then I found this place. It inspired me and gave me a new
lease of life. We close for dinner so now I can pick up my daughters from
school.”
She trained all her staff personally. Many had no previous kitchen experience,
including her current head chef, Tito, who came to deliver cheese one day and
never left.
The café first opened in 2004 with one table that seated 10. “I brought my pots
and pans from home. We had no washing machines so the three of us who were here
at the start washed a lot of dishes,” said Gyngell, 46.
“We have had no investment and we lost so much money over the years. Last year
was the first time we broke even.
“We still have dirt floors, a mishmash of glasses, the tables are wobbly and
the service is pretty haphazard at times, so I was not expecting a Michelin
star. I always pretended I didn't care but I do now — it's fantastic.
“We serve as simple food as possible and try not to interfere with the flavours
too much. To be rewarded for all our hard work is absolutely amazing.

“I didn't even know the stars were coming out yesterday. I suppose if I was a
proper chef I would have known.” "
